We're a dynamic fusion of new and older styles of bellydancing and drumming. We bring a modern flavor to these ancient artforms, and our show is interactive with the audience. Sheesha Bellydance And Drum is a professional group that's performed our unique style for a variety of audiences. Festivals, night clubs, concert venues, parties, corporate events, and even schools. (But we wear a bit more clothes!) We deliver an exciting, artful performance, and will custom tailor a show for your audience. We're available for entertainment during the daytime, and also for evening events. We love celebratory events like wedding receptions, birthday parties, graduations, etc. and we perform around the Clearwater, and Tampa area. We like to begin with Kimara, Abi, and myself all drumming to a nice grooving rhythm as the guests arrive. The video below gives you an example. It's from a small wedding reception at the Sand Pearl Hotel on Clearwater Beach, FL. It was nice, dancing, drumming, and then the sunset as a backdrop.

Kimara does a sword bellydance about six minutes into this video, then does a fire fan dance. There's a waterfall in the background adding some noise, and the video gets a little blurry near the end. Florida humidity maybe? We provide fun interactive shows that people are invited to dance, play the drums, & percussion along with us. We can customize, or tailor our show to meet your event or vision, whatever it may be.

After some warm up drumming, Kimara eases out playing the zills, and does the opening bellydance number.

We play a variety of earth and world rhythms, Greek, African, Latin, R&B, and fuse various dances to them. The veil belly dance usually comes next, played to the Mother Rhythm. It's beautiful to watch this done.

Kimara's incredible sword bellydance performance comes soon after played to the rhythm Beledi. Sensual and scary at the same time. (You can see this number on the video sample above.)

We build up the heat as we drum the sun into the ocean sunset.

As the show nears the end, we like to hand out drums and percussion to everyone to join in playing. (The sun was setting so the photo is a little blurry.)

The fire dance number comes as the finale, (if allowed). It's breathtaking to watch.

Our shows are very organic, and usually go 60 to 90 minutes. We require no amplifiers, or microphones. One thing we like to do at wedding receptions is play a fertility rhythm, and also near the end of the performance play a rhythm that is played in two parts. One part of the rhythm is for the groom and his side of the family. Then we play the other part of the rhythm that is for the bride and her family. We then merge the two rhythm parts into one beautiful rhythm, that signifies the bringing together of the couple and their families through music. Often the bride and groom will dance in the center during this, and it is very meaningful to them. We do of course ask them if they would like us to do this first. Our performance is distinctive, unique, and will be a lasting memory for you and your guests.
